Brett Ersoff

Mr. Ersoff is the President and Co-Founder of LMF Commercial. Mr. Ersoff has over 33 years of experience in the commercial real estate industry and mortgage lending business. Prior to the formation of LMF Commercial, Mr. Ersoff was the Global Co-head of the commercial mortgage group at UBS Securities LLC. While at UBS, the group originated approximately $10 billion of commercial mortgage loans, which included over $5 billion of conduit loans, stand alone large loans, balance sheet loans and mezzanine positions. Prior to joining UBS, Mr. Ersoff was a Managing Director at Credit Suisse where he was the Co-head of its commercial mortgage conduit group.

From 1996 to 2008, Mr. Ersoff was employed by Lehman Brothers as a Managing Director and was Co-founder and Co-head of its commercial mortgage conduit program. During his tenure at Lehman Brothers, the business was responsible for originating more than $34 billion dollars of commercial loans across 4,000 individual transactions that were packaged and sold in 46 separate pooled securitizations. Mr. Ersoff was directly responsible for the creation of the platform as well as the conception and implementation of the ongoing business strategy. He assembled an in-house team of direct originators and developed a national network of mortgage bankers and brokers. The group was one of the largest contributors of CMBS loans in the market by principal balance and the collateral still maintains one of the lowest levels of delinquency in the CMBS market to date. In 2006, Mr. Ersoff became the firm’s first real estate recipient of Lehman Brothers Chairman’s Award for Extraordinary Client Service.

Prior to Lehman Brothers, Mr. Ersoff was at Bear Stearns in its Real Estate Investment Banking Division. Mr. Ersoff began his career in commercial mortgage banking at the Mortgage Corporation of America. Mr. Ersoff graduated with a B.A. from George Washington University.

John Herman

Mr. Herman is the Chief Investment Officer and Co-Founder of LMF Commercial. Mr. Herman has over 33 years of experience in the commercial real estate industry and mortgage lending business. Prior to the formation of LMF Commercial, Mr. Herman was the Global Co-head of the commercial mortgage group at UBS Securities LLC and was the group’s acting Chief Credit Officer. Prior to joining UBS, Mr. Herman was a Managing Director at Credit Suisse where he was the Co-head of its commercial mortgage conduit group. From 2008 to 2010, Mr. Herman was a managing partner for Round Hill Capital Advisors, a real estate advisory firm which he founded.

From 1996 to 2008, Mr. Herman was employed by Lehman Brothers as a Managing Director and was Co-founder, Co-head and Chief Credit Officer of its Commercial Mortgage Conduit Program. During his tenure at Lehman Brothers, Mr. Herman was responsible for the design of the business’s entire infrastructure including underwriting guidelines, legal documentation, information processes, pipeline system and organization of collateral documentation for securitization. Mr. Herman reviewed and approved all loans for the program; was solely responsible for approving all loans under $25 million and was a member of the credit committee responsible for approving loans greater than $25 million. Mr. Herman reviewed and approved over 4,000 securitized loans totaling more than $40 billion. His responsibilities also included securitization, the sale of non-investment grade bonds and management of personnel.

Prior to Lehman Brothers, Mr. Herman was at Bear Stearns in its Real Estate Investment Management group. Prior to Bear Stearns, Mr. Herman had 10 years of experience working for various real estate companies, including Sentinel Realty Advisors where he was head of commercial property acquisitions. Mr. Herman graduated with a B.A. from George Washington University.
